Virtual Women's Wellness Workshops During the Pandemic

The Women's Workshop has been so wonderful during the month of December. I was slightly anxious going into it because I didn't have a clue who the other women would be, but I can honestly say that they are amazing women and I'm SO grateful for the opportunity to meet with them weekly. Erica has so much knowledge and insight about self-care, relationships with food, how the treatment of our bodies (the food we eat and stress-relieving activities we do/don’t implement) can heavily influence things like PTSD, anxiety, depression, etc. I have learned new skills that have helped me cope with my own mental illnesses and journey toward healing.
Meeting with these women every week is something I look forward to because I feel seen and heard by each of them (which can be difficult to find during this uncertain time). We are able to express ourselves openly in a safe space without fear of judgment. Erica has helped me personally restructure my routines in order to implement more self-care practices. As a rape survivor, I have found it really tough to love myself and my body enough to care for it the way I should. During this workshop, I’ve gained a deeper understanding of what self-care really is, and the many ways we can practice it daily.
Although I didn’t know any of the women in my workshop at the beginning, I have felt safe, respected, and cared about whenever I’ve chosen to share personal experiences and thoughts. It’s incredible to see a group of women begin as strangers and eventually become a wonderful support group. If you are considering this workshop-DON’T HESITATE! Especially as a rape survivor, it can be so hard to find support and feel validated…and this workshop has become a huge source of support and validation for me. Having 1:1 sessions with Erica is also incredibly helpful and she is SO supportive and caring. This has been such a blessing during an intense time and I’m so glad I dove right in and tried it!
