Introducing Mikayla Acosta: Newest Addition to the Sunlight Retreats Team

Mikayla Acosta is a senior college student at Point Loma Nazarene University and is currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology. Born and raised in San Diego, Mikayla decided to attend PLNU due to its tight-knit community and outreach opportunities.

In the Spring of 2019, Mikayla studied abroad in Seville, Spain where she gained a deeper understanding and love for the Spanish culture. Since then, she has participated in ministry trips to Mexico with other PLNU students where she became more aware of the rise of sexual violence and human trafficking occurring only a few miles south of us.

Mikayla is thrilled to be a part of the Sunlight Retreats team as she supports the organization’s dedication to provide a safe and loving space where strong survivors unite and heal.

Outside of school and work, Mikayla enjoys trying new foods, dancing around her house, and snuggling with her two dachshunds, Queen Latifah and Shakira.
